This is the day the first humans landed on the moon!! Apollo 11 was launched on July 16, 1969. On July 20th, 1969, Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin took the very first step on the moon. Michael Collins orbited from above this event in history.
After describing the surface dust ("fine and almost like a powder") Armstrong stepped off Eagle's footpad and into history as the first human to set foot on another world. It was then that he uttered his famous line "That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.
